This paper reports the development of a survey on the use of educational resource for web conference called Flashmeeting (FM), available at the LabSpace of the collaborative research project OpenLearn, which was developed by CoLearn/Open University and by the Postgraduate Studies Program in Technology and Intelligence Digital Design PUCSP (TIDD/PUCSP) and the Undergraduate Technology and Digital Media PUCSP (TMD/PUCSP). Flashmeeting has been used by teachers to disseminate their research and promote the participation of students in the subject. It is an exploratory research that aims to understand the use of educational resource Flashmeeting at PUC, explore the features of the environment while monitoring the events promoted by faculty researchers in the Postgraduate Studies programs (TIDD/PUCSP) and Undergraduate (TMD/PUCSP). After the study of the theoretical framework on the subject of media and the exploi60 Scitis, vol. 1, setembro 2014 – Universidade Paulista tation of environmental aspects, the functions of FM were detailed. The Flashmeeting presents itself as a valuable tool for educational use by allowing the convergence of media text, sound and image, as well as to facilitate interaction between participants and offer the recording and storage of web conferencing events. The advantages point to the potential of the application in order to support communication and collaborative construction of learning.
