Resumo (EN)
This article analyzes the evolution of distance
education in the light of the latest developments
in the field of information technologies and
communication. In turn, this has brought about
a change in its marginal status since distance education
has become essential to meet the demands
of the initial and ongoing process of formation of
professional in diverse areas of specialization, in
particular, teacher education, also subsidizing the
creation of public policies and government programs.
