Objective– Find what prevalence of symptoms of musculoskeletal disorders related to work of the military police. Methods– The pre-sent study was characterized as a cross-sectional descriptive survey of 50 military police officers acting as a dispatcher at the MilitaryPolice Operations Center of Florianópolis/SC. The instruments used in this research were the Nordic Musculoskeletal Questionnaireand Visual Analogue Scale. Results– The prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal disorders in the last 12 months were lower backreported by 68% police officers, followed by neck and shoulder 50% 48%. Already referring to the seven days preceding the surveyreported lower back for 38% of the participants, neck second reaching 14% and 18% following the shoulder. Conclusion– This studydemonstrates the high prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders related to work of the Military Police performing the dispatcher functionin the Operations Center of Military Police of Florianópolis/SC, the most affected regions, lower back, shoulder, neck both in the last12 months as in the 7 days preceding the survey.
