Objective – Investigate the differences in the quality of life of adult ex-players during childhood and sedentary. Methods – The WHOQOL-ADAPTED instrument was used, a questionnaire for self-assessment of quality of life. The sports practice interferes in the development of children, but the gains are not limited to this phase of life. The benefits acquired in childhood reflect on the adult life of individuals even if they become sedentary during adulthood. Results – The results of this study showed that in all domains of quality of life the group of ex-players has a higher score on their quality of life, and significant differences are pointed out in the physical domain and in the general average of quality of life between groups. Conclusion – Sports practice in childhood positively interferes with self-assessment of individuals' quality of life in adulthood.
