Resumo (EN)
To perform dental treatment in children, the pediatric dentist can call on a large variety of control and conditioning techniques. These strategies have often been shown insufficient for therapy to be concluded in children who are very afraid, nervous and uncooperative. General anesthesia is another resource with immediate results for controlling the behavior of difficult patients, although its use is very limited in dental services offered. The objective of this study is, through a literature review, to present and discuss the main technical norms to be observed in institutions, through describing child dental treatment performed in a hospital environment under general anesthetic.
