Objective – To show orders found the Chilopoda class (centipedes) that inhabit eight ecological parks in the city of Sorocaba, state of São Paulo. Methods – Catches lasted one year 2014/2015. There were two different ways, one by manual collecting (hand collecting), looking for animals in the litter and buried below this with the aid of forceps and collection of litter with a plastic collector. Results –We collected 136 individuals in total, corresponding to two different orders (Geophilomorpha and Scolopendromorpha). Conclusions – The importance of this inventory is demonstrated mainly by the lack of scientific literature in the region of the state of São Paulo, also to be anthropic and poisonous animals, so it is essential to know the ecological function of this taxon, considering that the ecological parks Sorocaba are open for visitation. There are few studies on the action of poisons these, however, most of the accidents reported in Brazil causes redness and severe pain at the site.
