Introduction — There is lack of information in the literature regarding standard measurements of organs of the urinary system. in the urinary system. Methods — This study was performed in order to measure the renal length, width, height, cortical thikness and pelvis of kidneys of 30 German Shepherd dogs, 15 males and 15 females. Statistics studies were performed to evaluate the variations of these measurement within each gender, the differences between genders and between the left and right kidneys. Results — Regarding the right kidney between genders, there was no significant difference as for length and cortical thickness, although the width and height were larger in males and the pelvis was larger in female. Conclusions — Regarding the left kidney, there was no significant difference as for any measurement between genders. Within all the males, the left pelvis was larger than the right one and there were no significant differences as for the other measurements. Within all the females, there were no significant differences between the right and left kidneys
