Resumo (EN)
The report has been evaluate, through a review of the literature, the incidence of contamination of the Brazil nuts for aflatoxin and cri-tical control points in the production chain of this fruit. All nuts analyzed in the studies point aflatoxin contamination, which ranged from 0,06μg / kg and 700μg / kg. Samples of trade showed the lowest value for total quantification, ranging from 0,06μg / kg 0,86μg / kg. The samples collected directly from the forest were the ones that showed the highest contamination, with values ranging from 200μg / kg to 700μg / kg. The maximum tolerated by law for direct shelled consumption is 10mg / kg, showing that only the samples that passed through the correct processing are safe for consumption, thus, the adoption of good collection and control practices of the critical points of the steps by Chestnuts pass which are important in controlling the spread of producer fungus aflatoxin, allowing mi-nimize the impacts of this contamination on the economy and human health.
