Objective – To analyze the profile of children 0-3 years with food allergy users of Home Care Enteral Nutrition Program for a referral center. Methods – This was a cross-sectional study conducted between October 2009 and February 2010, by the protocol of care of children in attendance, aged 0-3 years, of both sexes, diagnosed as allergy cows milk. Results – There was a study which is a higher prevalence of allergy in female children (57, 69%), the average age in months was 17,00±7,86. Regarding the general characteristics was observed, on average, exclusive breastfeeding of 3,28±2,36 months, maternal education 13,38±1,94 years with 53,8% of mothers showing more than 15 years education and research family history, 42,3% of children had a parent with a history of allergy. Regarding income, the average was 3,27±1,04 salaries and the higher prevalence of symptoms related to allergy were diarrhea, 38,5%. Most children, 84,6%, had adequate nutritional status. Conclusion –The analysis of the profile of infants and young children identified that most of the children were well nourished and the most common symptoms of allergy were gastrointestinal. Nutritional programs can contribute to good nutrition and strategies for prevention of allergy should be valued as exclusive breastfeeding, the correct introduction of complementary foods, as well as the dissemination of knowledge through research.
