Objective – Assessment of static and dynamics balance in elderly people, practitioners and non-practitioners of physical activities. Methods – Prospective observational study with elderly people over 60 years practitioners and non-practitioners of physical activities of both genders (n=20). Through Baecke questionnaire, the elderly were divided into two groups: GI physically active GII not physically active. And applying POMA scale performed an evaluation of static and dynamic balance. For statistical analysis student’s t test was used. Results – This study showed that the GI has lower balance deficit compared to GII. According to statistical analysis the difference in balance of GI to GII group was statistically significant (p<0,05). Conclusion – Elderly physically active have lower balance deficit.
