Objective – To evaluate the protein ingestion in quantity and quality of elderly women aged ≥ 60, in the state of sarcopenia who live in society, independent of they are practicing physical activity or not. Methods – Cross-sectional study with the N of 29 women ≥ 60 years of age, in which the three-day Food Registry Questionnaire was applied to evaluate the quantity and quality of dietetic protein ingestion. For the analysis of the sarcopenia state, the Electric Biaimpedance was used and classified accordingly with Jansem by the European consensus, as well as the measurement of calf circumference. Results – They suggest the quantity and quality of dietetic protein evaluated in the Food Registry was 69% insufficient according to the RDA recommendations, of which 28% ingested only 0.5g /kg/day. Conclusion – The highest proportion of the sample presented insufficient consumption of proteins of high biological value, that is, less than 0.8g/kg/day. Evidentiating the importance of the nutritionist in assessing adequately, from the trace, prevention, follow-up and response to treatment of the fragility of the elderly.
