Objective – The studies on prevalence of pain have been realized for many authors, however these studies are not frequent in the artistic areas. The objective of this study was to verify the prevalence of pain in classical ballet dancers. Methods – The research was developed in a school music technique and dances located in the city of Cubatão, where the sample was constituted by 30 dancers of the feminine sex with average of age of 20,4 years, with more than eight years of practical of dance and that they use ballet shoes of tip. The data had been collected through the application of a formulary in individual and privative way. The form of analysis of the data was made through a quantitative boarding. Results – The results had demonstrated that 90% (n = 27) of the interviewed dancers already had presented pain in some corporal region, being that the corporal region where hears greater incidence was the region of the knee with 25,4% (n=15) of the presented complaints, followed for the lumbar region with 20,3% (n = 12). Conclusion – It was evidenced in this research one raised prevalence of pain between the practitioners of ballet classic.
