With the arrival of the internet and, especially, social networks, the importance of the press was threatened. After all, it is no longer the only one with the ability to circulate information on a large scale. However, this did not stop the press from playing a role in the circulation of information. With this in mind, this article aims to answer the question: how does the press circulate messages passed on in digital social networks? For that, a content analysis will be carried out along the lines of Bardin (2011) of the approaches of the newspaper Folha de São Paulo and The New York Times about Jair Bolsonaro's post about his hospital stay on the social network Instagram, on June 14, 2021.
