The general objective of this dissertation is to reflect on the notion of ‘cult’ based on a panoramic analysis of the ‘cult films’ section in the catalog of the digital (streaming) platform MUBI in terms of genres and nationality. To achieve this objective, the research seeks to find, within the MUBI platform, the popularity that moves the niche of cult film lovers.
O objetivo geral desta dissertação é refletir sobre a noção de ‘cult ’ a partir de uma análise panorâmica da seção ‘filmes cult ’ no catálogo da plataforma digital (streaming) MUBI em termos de gêneros e nacionalidade. Para alcançar este objetivo, a pesquisa busca encontrar, dentro da plataforma MUBI, a popularidade que move o nicho de apreciadores de filmes cult.
