Introduction – Given the advance of studies and theories approaching quality in the scope of health services, this subject has become focus of research in different levels of hospital assistance. This study aimed to identify the perception of the nurses who work at a day hospital about their performance in promoting the quality of attendance in this institution. Material and Methods – This is a qualitative study that followed the methodological proposed by the content analysis. The data had been colected through semi-structured interviews, with three nurses of a day hospital of plastic surgery. Results – The results demonstrate that the nurses act accordingly to the concept that they have for quality of attendance and based on what they believe that will meet the needs of their clients, always striving for professional excellence, as well as for the satisfaction of their internal and external customers, suggesting that the implantation of actions with this intention has caused good results in the quality of attendance. Conclusions – It was possible to identify that the nurse’s role in the quality of attendance in a day hospital requires unique cares, covering scientific knowledge and humanization.
