Objective – To verify the notification of the occurrence of dengue cases in the city of Guararapes-SP, in the period from 2014 to 2019. Methods – This is a descriptive, retrospective, observational study, in which the database of the DATASUS, referring to dengue cases notified from 2014 to 2019, in the city of Guararapes-SP. Results – 4,230 dengue cases were reported in the city, with 2,474 cases occurring in 2015. Most of the registered notifications were in adults (75.6%), aged between 15 and 64 years old, female (55.9%). The most used criterion for confirming the disease was the clinical-epidemiological one (57.2%). Conclusion – In the period from 2014 to 2019, 4,230 notifications of dengue cases were carried out, with the individuals most affected by the disease being adults and mainly women. In 2015, the largest number of cases was registered, characterizing an epidemic, with five deaths. The clinical-epidemiological diagnosis was the most used to confirm most cases.
