Introduction - The aim of this work was to make easy the study of endodontic techniques performances suggesting a method to determinate areas and thickness of radicular canals, before and after instrumentation, in digital or digitalized radiographies, through design and image software. Material and Methods - Mesio-buccal canals of extracted mandibular molars were filled up with a radiological contrast of Barium sulfate (100%) and a direct digital radiography were taken using an especial device that allows taking different X-rays of the teeth in the same espacial position, before and after doing endodontic techniques. The digital images before and after surgery were superimposed and carried out through the following software: AutoCAD 2004 (Autodesc, Inc, USA) and CorelDraw 10 (MicroSafe, RJ, Brazil) in which were observed the canal walls changes, through areas and thickness analyses, respectively. Results and Conclusions The introduced methodology allowed the study of endodontic techniques performances in easy acquisition and utilization software.
