Resumo (EN)
Introduction – This study evaluated and compared the mandibular growth of individuals presenting mandibular skeletal Class II with of individuals presenting Class I skeletal pattern. Material and Methods – Were analysed 18 individuals of each group, Brazilians, of both sexes, which none of these individuals had received orthopedic-orthodontic treatment. Were analysed linear and angular measures, and verified the mandibular displacement. Results – The growth and the mandibular displacement were bigger in the group of Class I, not being statistically significant. The goniac angle presented a bigger reduction in the Class II individuals. Conclusions – Didn´t has a statistically significant difference of the mandibular growth between groups.
