Resumo (EN)
Objectives – To analyze the incidence of positive cases of syphilis caused by T. pallidum in the city of Campinas – SP. Methods – Data collection was carried out between January 2010 and June 2020 through indicators of sexually transmitted diseases and infections available on the Ministry of Health website for the last 10 years. Results – It can be said that the epidemiological profile in the analyzed period corresponds to an increasing number of cases, with 5,886 positive male cases, and 4,058 female cases, totaling 9,944 cases in the period, with prevalence in the age group of 20-29 years, and complete high school. Conclusion – According to the data obtained in this study, even with the notification of acquired syphilis being compulsory, we observed an increase in the detection rate of cases per 100 thousand inhabitants, in the period from 2010 to 2020, in the city of Campinas, worsening each time. more among young people needing intensification of government campaigns.
