Resumo (EN)
The thesis discusses the strategic role of Brazilian waterways in agricultural flow, with an emphasis on optimizing grain logistics. According to the research, despite Brazil's extensive river network, underutilization of this mode reduces logistical efficiency and causes losses in the production chain. The main idea is to build a solid waterway transport model that can increase competitiveness in the international market and increase the country's GDP. The structure of the thesis is composed of five chapters that range from a theoretical and methodological foundation to a careful analysis of current infrastructure and its problems. An analysis of Brazilian waterways in relation to international systems shows problems, such as high operating costs and insufficient investment. An analysis of Brazilian waterways in relation to international systems shows problems such as high operating costs, insufficient investment and obsolete infrastructure. The research also indicates that the modernization of the sector depends on public policies and public-private partnerships (PPP). The thesis also emphasizes the need for efficient environmental management. The environmental effects of waterways in Brazil, such as deforestation and water pollution, are considered more serious than in other regions of the world. This makes technological advances, more rigorous inspections and recovery programs necessary. Future research will explore new strategies focused on technological innovations in transport logistics and infrastructure. It is also suggested to investigate more efficient and economical methods to improve the supply chain and increase profitability. In the political field, a study on the bureaucratic obstacles that impact investments in infrastructure is recommended, proposing solutions to speed up decisions and promote transparency.
