Entrepreneurship is of paramount importance not only for society, but also for the country's growth and development. The emergence of startups shows itself as a trend in great growth, mainly for beginning entrepreneurs. However, the changes in the way of opening, managing and leading a startup company are different from the traditional companies already known in the market. For this reason, the general objective of this work is to emphasize the difficulties that entrepreneurs face to consolidate their enterprise in the Brazilian market. The specific objectives are to identify in the literature the difficulties encountered by entrepreneurs of startups in Brazil and to verify the way in which entrepreneurs work to overcome such difficulties. To achieve the objectives in question, a Likert questionnaire was applied, containing 18 closed questions for entrepreneurs in the initial stage of developing a startup. The results showed that the lack of knowledge of financial management by the partners, initial financial restrictions and conflict between the partners are the most common difficulties in the opinion of entrepreneurs, among others.
