Resumo (EN)
The present dissertation aims to analyze the relationship between humor, stereotypes and prejudices in the replay of TV Globo's Sai de Baixo program shown in the Comedy Session. We work with the hypothesis that Sai de Baixo's humor, originally shown in the 1990s, has an offensive effect, as it raises delicate issues related to women, poverty, minorities or underprivileged groups. Observing the jokes of Sai de Baixo from the perspective of prejudice, it is possible to notice traits loaded with exaggerations in some characterizations, with the aim of provoking laughter. The theoretical framework of this research includes studies on humor, laughter, comedy, situation comedy, prejudice and stereotypes. As a methodology, this work relies on the content analysis of Bardin (2016), carried out in four episodes of the program, shown in the first semester of 2019. Although the content is apparently offensive, the jokes of Sai de Baixo are still remembered today and broadcast on social networks.
