Resumo (EN)
The present dissertation proposes to compare the classic American western Kill or Die (High Noon, USA, 1952) and the chanchades parody Kill or Run (Brazil, 1954), with the main objective of understanding the resulting expressive reconfigurations and appropriations of art direction. Based on the critical analysis on adaptation and parody (Hutcheon and Propp) and with a view to illuminating aspects related to the poetics of creation of the slaps, the empirical analysis that presents the nuances and techniques employed in the two films discusses scenarios and costumes used, from the understanding of the historical context of cinema in Brazil and the United States as well as its relations with the western genre. As a result of this investigation, we demonstrate the manifestation of the slap as a parody, from the interpretation of a work belonging to a foreign culture, presenting a comparative study of frames, which demonstrate how the objects of scene and costumes were responsible for this reconfiguration. The present work was carried out with the support of the Coordination of Improvement of Higher Education Personnel – Brazil (CAPES) – Financing Code 001.
