This study analyzes Barack Obama's political campaign propaganda posters by the time he was running for president of the United States, in 2008 as means to spread the ideas and concepts pertaining to his political platform. The dissertation will emphasize the communication reaching for the general voters, and will also approach in details the use of visual languages with a fast absorption rate, and a great impact over the visual contemporary culture. ln this research the resources adopted by the artists that worked spontaneously on the posters to support the campaign are analyzed. The amount of created posters was diversified in quantity, artistic language and means of expression adopted. The period of exposition to communicate cultural actions and ideas in public places with huge people flow demands a fast perception of the transmitted message, and also imposes peculiar construction strategies, which will be thoroughly studied through the toais provided by language theories, and by the criticai tradition of arts in general. Beyond the mentioned elements, there will also be an evaluation of the layout patterns, fonts, colors and its contrasts, and, at last, there will be an approach of the posters components' relations.
