This research studied the relationship between gastronomy, the cuisine, the males, females and the Brazilian television. The theoretical framework was based on studies and works of researchers like Jesús Contreras, Jean- Lois Fladrin and Massimo Montanari , Jean -Pierre Polain , Dulcília Schoeder Buitoni, Joan Scott, Ana Carolina Scosteguy and Itânia Maria Mota Gomes. Was performed qualitative analysis of programs Mais Você, Hoje em Dia, Homens Gourmet e Brasil no Prato, where we tried to understand what and how the different approaches and discursive practices of cuisine and cooking in the open and closed TV are set, and how issues related to male and female changes the program approach . The study concluded that gastronomy and cuisine have suffered some tensions and reformulations on the approach on TV. On the one hand gaining ground with a more technical and specialized discourse in the closed TV, in TV cooking has sought fit to change in contemporary role of women in society.
